Hello Council family,
I have sent you a few emails over the years updating you on Sara. I wanted to send you some photos of our most recent adventure! We completed the Florida Cracker Trail which is a week long ride across the state of Florida. It was 130 miles of "Old" Florida ending with a big parade in Ft. Pierce.
I can not thank Mike enough for matching me up with my Sara. I look forward to many more years of adventures with her! I hope all is well with Mike and the family!

Hi Dana and Mr. Mike,
I took River out today with a saddle. It was so much fun. I haven't had a quiet horse for 3 1/2 years. Yeah. No more spooking or bucking or shying.
I love River !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's everything you said he was. He's so careful with his every step.
We went on a trail by ourselves. We went down our long driveway and crossed the road. Big huge trucks went by and
then cut to where the trails would be. They have 4 polo fields back there that teams use for soccer. So there were
2 games going on. Balls flying, banners up that were flapping, orange cones, kids screaming, parents running down the driveway behind me, all kinds of stuff. He was perfect, it's almost like he's human, cause he wasn't afraid of ANYTHING, ZIP, NADDA, NUTTIN. I am so happy that I have River. He will have a perfect home forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi Dana, just wanted to let you know how Toby and Ramrod are doing. We LOVE them so much. They are so good with our girls ages 8 and 9. The horses love the little girls. They are so gentle with them. Not spooky at all, the girls are really getting confident. Liza changed her pony's name from Ramrod to Mighty Mouse. That Toby is a doll. He loves being around people, follows without a lead rope. Stands while being groomed or fussed with. Thank you Mike! Perfect fit for us. We will definitely call you when we need another horse or pony!

We are the people from Weatherford, TX who picked up the little red and white spotted saddle or TWH not sure which on March 24th at your ranch. I just wanted to let you all know he is a great match for us and our black and white horse we bought from you back in October last year. The two horses are getting along great. We went to Seven Springs, AL after we left your place. It was the first time I had a chance to really take Dakota, the black and white, into the mountains and he did fantastic! He did everything I asked of him....we rode through some pretty hard trails and he never made a mistake. Once we got shoes on the red and white, now Montana, I was able to take him on the trails too and he did fantastic! We are really happy with both of the horses! Take care!!

I recently purchased Blue Rock and Victor from Council Farms and I cannot express the amount of service, respect and help I have received. I know that if I have any questions that Mike will ALWAYS answer his phone and spend the time explaining things or helping me with advice regarding horses. I live in Nebraska and he made sure the horses I purchased were right for me, clear across from Georgia to Nebraska. Buying a horse is difficult, however Mike Council will assist you through and
through. I can honestly say that. He readily and easily exchanged a horse for me with no questions asked. He will provide you with the service that you can really really rely on. I know as I'm a customer and a firm believer. Also, he will provide you with tack that fits your horse at your request. For me that was a minimal fee and worth it. Not sure if you remember but my husband and I purchased Whiskey and Chief in June of this year. They are terrific horses! We ride often at many of the local Metro parks in the Cleveland Ohio area.
We were pleased when they arrived, exactly as described. And they were perfect matches for both our personalities and riding skill level. We've grown to be very attached to them and they to us.

Not sure if you will remember us - we purchased Money (the black TN Walker in May). I wanted to give you all an update on Money. My daughter (who just turned 8 on 12/3) and Money participated in their first show together on 11/19 in 2 classes. They won first place in both classes! And the kicker - she showed against an adult!

It's been a year since I bought Blossom (Fancy now). I was blessed with an angel. She does anything I ask from her. I have taught her many new tricks and no matter what kind of trails we are on she will go where ever I ask her to go. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I just wanted to take a moment of your time and thank you and Mike Council for the sale of a horse, Rainmaker, that my older brother Richard in Sims, Montana bought from you for his wife. Rainmaker has impressed every trainer and rider who has come in contact with this horse. They have said over and over that they have never experienced such an outstanding horse and could not be happier with him. This influenced me to check out your website and I started dealing with Mike over the phone. He helped direct me to the purchase of a blue roan walking horse "Cyrus" who has already turned out to be the horse of my dreams even though he is only five years old. Mike Council is the only person that I am personally aware of that provides the buyer with a guarantee for one full year after the purchase, but with the horses he is selling, I don't see where it would ever be used. His horses are absolutely the "Best" in the Southeast Region. You drive away with a peace of mind and an incredible horse in your trailer. You can't go wrong doing business with people like you. I just wanted to thank you again for two wonderful horses.

Champ arrived Thur morning @ 7:45. Shipper was polite and well organized. He offloaded rest of the horses and rearranged trailer for rest of his trip.
My wife wasn't going to ride him that day to let him adjust to his new home; however after putting the new bit in bridle and adjusting for proper fit, the saddle was next. Needless to say, he was ridden within 30 minutes off the trailer. Nice walk with a smoooooth canter!!! I don't know if you have seen the ad, but my wife has a "pudding" smile like the little boy that stole his friend's.
She rode him around a large field that he hadn't seen and went with not a trace of shying. While eating last night, she said the running walk was suuuuper---no bounce.

Hello! This is Jennifer. We purchased Money, a black Tennessee Walker, for my 7 year old daughter who has been riding for 3 years and showing for 2. There was an instant bond and connection with the two of them. Money is a "gentle giant" and so affectionate. Ours could not have been any better. You have sent us two wonderful horses, Doc and Sprit, that stole our hearts sight unseen until the 20th of Nov. 2010 when they arrived. They have been a perfect gentleman and lady. They are more beautiful then their pic's. They have the best personalities, and they are absolute lovers. They follow us around like puppy dogs. They have been welcomed by the rest of the menagerie, 2 Fila Brasilerio's, 1 Samoyed/Wolf, 11 cats, 25 chickens, 30 Gueinea's, 10 goats. They have made themselves right at home. They know our routines and they know their feeding times, which they will not let us forget.

Thanks so much for Johnny Cash. He's fitting in with the herd really well, and just is a terrific all-around horse to date. Yesterday he made his debut in the Cavalry and was stead-fast and willing—all that you stated he would be. He was good with the other horses, carried a flag without a problem and was able to perform the saber qualification course. Tom was beaming with pride—he was finally on a horse who could accomplish the task at hand. Johnny Cash truly is one of those "special horses." He's a sweetheart.

Santara arrived off transport like a true, well behaved gentleman. He has been so good and although I was just going to let him rest the first day,he seemed to want to go out for a ride. We had a wonderful short ride in the round pen last evening and a 2 hour trail ride today.
He led the pack and was the most "well behaved" horse in the group. Nothing fazed him and he even stood patiently during his bath. He is so comfortable to ride and does what ever I ask, what a joy.

I wanted to give you an update on a horse I purchased in May of last year. He has turned into a complete gentleman, and everything I could ask for in a trail/pleasure horse. At first I wasn't sure if he was going to work out, but I really stuck with him and he has truly blossomed. I remember when I got him, Mr. Mike asked me if he was going to a good home, and I wanted to let you know he is fat and happy and we ride all over the place. I get MANY compliments on him. In May my husband and I drove down from Tennessee and brought 3 horses with us to trade in on one GOOD horse for myself. I was a very timid rider and we had bought horse after horse looking for the one for me. We rode several horses while there and decided on a beautiful Palomino Gelding neamed Poco Beuno who I named... Mr. Man. I absolutely love this horse.
We went on several rides and camped a few times last summer and fall and I can't wait to get back in the saddle again. Council family,
My husband and I purchased Blue Magic Jet, “Blue”, from you in December. I wanted to wait for the perfect time to write you and tell you how I think the world of this horse. I have put Blue though the paces and nothing upsets him.
We recently competed in the local PCA Rodeo Queen contest (didn’t win, but got 3rd place out of twenty girls); I have hauled him to countless barrel races and rodeos to see the sites; we participated in the Saddle Up for St. Jude trail ride and other trail rides where we have seen just about everything (he loves crossing water); and we just played the headless horseman for a haunted hay ride. The hay ride was at 8:00pm with approximately twenty screaming kids on a trailer, with a noisy tractor and two strobe lights. Blue did his job, took care of me, and did not even flinch.
I have also put my friend’s children on him and he takes care of them like precious cargo. Gun shots, machinary, cars, etc. do not bother him. We are also going to a clinic in a few weeks so I can learn basic reining with him. Thank you for allowing me to find a best friend. I will definitely do business again in the future. Blue will always have a place with me and I am grateful to have found him. Thank you again (look for pictures soon).

Hi to everyone at your farm,
This is Laurie and I wanted to give you a quick note for your testimonial page.
Buck and Ringo are hands down the nicest horses my husband and I have ever been around. We have had them 5 weeks and taken them on 3 day rides away from the house. We have encountered an ostrich farm, a herd of big horn sheep that was in the middle of the road, all kinds of urban trail life like bikes, bikes with carriages, horse drawn carriages, and they both go down the trail like they were raised with all of this. Did I mention lamas and cattle, too? They are so easy going and great around all the new stuff we have thrown at them. They are everything Mr. Mike said they were.
Since we live in Colorado this purchase was sight unseen and we couldn't be happier with our 2 geldings.

Love how you are shooting over them and pulling the tarp. Shorty is not gun shy at all and doesn't spook . He had a pigeon fly right by his head when we had birds out working the dogs and he didn't even flinch.

Hi Debbie,
I'm sure you remember, my sister and I came up in May over Memorial Day weekend to buy a horse. We ended up choosing 'REBA' who was a TWH / Quarter Horse Bay Mare. We couldn't get a Health Certificate
for Florida due to the holiday, and couldn't bring her back until the following weekend. (We also brought home a calico kitten)
Anyway, I have meant to write for some time now to let you know how absolutely WONDERFUL this mare is, and to let you know she is everything I have always wanted in a horse. She is not only beautiful to look at, she is a dream
to ride and live with.
Thanks to you, your husband and the boys for helping us decide that her forever home would be with us! I also have to thank you for our beautiful calico kitten who we have named Bella. She is growing up to be a beloved part of our family, and my daughter's best friend.

This message is long overdue! Tina and I are so, so happy with our mares, Rumor and Jumper. We have been on several trail rides so far this Spring and have had the time of our lives with the horses. They are super trail horses as you promised. They will do the simple duties required of them or the most complex ones and never miss a beat. Rumor, who was somewhat overweight, has enjoyed the pasture life and; with regular riding, has lost the weight she needed to lose. She is beautiful! Jumper, on the other hand, shed off all that winter coat and gained the weight she needed...she is absolutely gorgeous! I let my brother ride her last week and he enjoyed her so much.
We have had the ferrier out, and they both did great. He really bragged on the soundness of their hooves/feet.
Thanks for working with us to "fit" us with the horses we were looking for. We could not be happier. We also love our saddles and tack. At every trail ride, other riders inquire about where we got our saddles. We visit your website often just to see what's going on and "who" is new.
Hope to visit with you at Council Farms sometimes this summer. Thanks again for everything. We are so happy with "our girls".

“An American Idol”, now re-named Cherokee, came to me approximately a week and half ago. When you told me he was a 4 year old, I nearly bolted, did I really want to take on a baby? He is one of the best rides I’ve ever had. No spooking, stops on a dime, is willing and eager to go, has a wonderful mouth and is interested when I take him out. The day you brought him, I took him out for a neighborhood ride with a friend. The first thing we saw was a motorcycle. It was like he had been brought up around motorcycles. I still can’t believe he is just 4 years old. We have ridden in the neighborhood several times, and he still amazes me. My friend says she’s never seen such a bomb proof horse that age. Not only is he good on the trail, but he is so personable in the pasture and stall. He is already picking up weight, and shedding out the rest of his winter coat, sleek and very beautiful.
You knew my story about being afraid to ride the horse I had. Cherokee has given me back my confidence, and I’m looking forward to many happy camping trips with him.
I don’t know how you do what you do, but keep it up. He’s a wonderful horse and I’m so happy to have him. Your weren’t kidding when you told me he was an “honest” horse, he really is.

Hi Debbie,
Wanted to update you on my progress with Rebel. I took him on the trail with a friend for a short hack and I must tell you I have never had such a laid back horse. He really is everything Mike told me he was. He is a real caretaker. I do plan on keeping him but if for some reason down the line I find his size not managable for me how long would Mike allow for an exchange. Believe me I don't expect to part with him but for my peace of mind I'd like to know. Thanks to you both for making me so happy. You guys are great. I have already referred two people to you and hope if they do visit you can fix them up with their perfect horse.

Wally was delivered just over a week ago; and I just wanted to let you all know how wonderful I already think he is!
I live very close to a state forest full of trails and Wally and I have already ridden out a couple of times. He has been perfect for me so far. He stands quietly, moves out and halts easily. He hasn’t spooked at anything, from opening a gate while on his back, to dogs running up and barking, to another horse spooking next to him. He is just a very calm and steady guy.
It would be fine with me if you want to post this comment. He is a really great horse!

I didn't meet you Saturday when we were there. My name is Marie and we are the ones that bought Crazy Cora, the sorrell Mule.
I just wanted to let Mr. Mike know that I absolutely LOVE HER!!!! She is everything I have been looking for. We got home late saturday night, but first thing Sunday we were up and outside with her. She is just the sweetest thing. I rode her for about an hour and a half all by myself all over 30 acres. This is major for me!!! She drives wonderfully! She is exactly what I needed for a confidence builder. I want to get the cart later and see what we can do with that.....

Mike and Debbie and their team of staff spent most of the day with us as we carefully selected the animal we needed. We are most happy with the little mule we brought home; children and adults enjoy riding her. She came to us both healthy and sound, as well! We "shopped" with two other families; all three of us found the horse we needed. All are healthy, sound and good riding animals. Now, for all of us who've been down this road before, doesn't that beat the odds!!!!! Shop with Mike and Debbie. We're glad we did and will continue and will send friends.

Hey Debbie,
I changed Lily's name to "Promise" this week. There is a scripture in the Bible that says "I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, I promise to give you hope and a future." That is my favorite verse, so I renamed her "Promise". She already knows that is her name and talks to me when I head to the barn. I can see her looking out the window of the stall she is in from my kitchen window.
I rode her this afternoon across the back of the farm. My husband took one of our Brittaney puppies back there to work with some birds. He even shot the birds as the dog flushed them up. Promise never blinked...............she did awesome!!!!!!! I am in LOVE with the little mare. I put my black dressage saddle on her along with a black bridle I have and she looked so pretty.
I just knew when you unloaded her from the trailor she was the one for me.

I can't thank you enough for finding me the most perfect horse. I just love Jake! He is such a gentle, loving horse. I don't know how Mike knew he would be the perfect match for me, but he surely is.
I am attaching a photo of him with his new girlfriend, Secret, who follows him wherever he goes. He's is quickly adapting to his new home.
